What Does Your Family Do For Halloween?

Halloween is coming: is your house covered in spooky decorations, with a gigantic stash of goodies bought, and the costumes all picked out & ready? Or... are you panicking because you haven't even started, and not really sure you want to? What does YOUR family do for Halloween?

Since Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, I'm going to have a little party with my kids (young and teens), go trick or treating in town and we get home, if the weather is good with NO RAIN AND/OR SNOW and not too cold, we are going to have a little fire in our round fire pit. Usually there would be parade at school, go home, have dinner and go trick or treating.

My husband is a Deputy Sheriff, and his office co-sponsors a neighborhood "Halloween in the Park" for local kids. Our three children(14 & 10 year-old twins) and I always help with it. This year we will spend the whole day at the park helping to set up. Games, candy, hot cider, arts & crafts, face painting, moon bounce, haunted house, costume contests, etc. It's fun to just watch all the little ones having the time of their lives. Everyone comes out. Last year we had an estimated crowd of about 2,000.

My husband & our 3 kids usually go to our church festival every year. We'll be doing the same again this year. They have games & other activities for the kids. It's good, clean fun without the "scari-ness" of Halloween.
