Sunday mornings are an especially busy time for me as I plan the meals, snacks, and lunch box necessities for the entire week. I keep the Cozi calendar in front of me when I plan now, because it really helps to look at our weekly appointments and responsibilities and then plan the meals around them. I also use the reminder feature to stay on top of all of our schedules (I am the nutritional provider and chauffer after all) and plan the meals around each day.
Here is a perfect example: My daughter has gymnastics on Wednesdays and we do not get home until dinner time so I need to plan a meal that can be made earlier in the day. (I often like to use leftovers or make a crock pot meal when I need to make something ahead. ) Since I know I can’t do it later, I’ll schedule an appointment time earlier in the day to make that dinner.
This past Sunday a good chunk of my meal planning was devoted to Thanksgiving. Our family loves brining our Turkey and going the traditional roasting route, so there was a lot to plan. I got so engrossed in it that I completely forgot about my Monday morning dental cleaning. Luckily, since I had set a reminder in my Cozi calendar reminder for 12 hours prior, I didn’t miss my appointment and get stuck paying those pesky ‘no show’ fees.
The planning is done, but I still have to make it through Thanksgiving! In addition to that brined turkey, we are looking forward to filling up with stuffing and Sweet Potato Casserole.
